Ram\u00f3n, declared an Inventoried Asset of the Cultural Heritage of the Government of Aragon, is located in the center of Barbastro, capital of the Somontano region, it is located next to the S.I. Cathedral of the Assumption ( declared a National Monument in 1931), the Paseo del Coso and the Episcopal Palace<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>The new 4-star San Ram\u00f3n del Somontano hotel, inaugurated in 2009, is located in the old San Ram\u00f3n hostel, which was an emblematic hotel establishment since 1903 and is already part of the 20th century history of Barbastro as one of the most characteristic urban identity buildings in the city. <\/strong>The old hostel was a modernist building that remained open until 2000.<\/p><p>In its rehabilitation, thanks to the commitment and enthusiasm of the current owners of the building, the Salamero family, they have managed to maintain this symbol of the City&#8217;s history. The building preserves the fa\u00e7ade including ornamental plasterwork moldings on the balconies as hallmarks of the old building.<\/p><p>The last seventy years of the 20th century the Hotel was directed by an exceptional woman: Do\u00f1a Josefina Bosch y Fajarn\u00e9s. She passed away at the end of 2000.<\/p><p>The hotel has witnessed the passage of clients of the stature of Joaqu\u00edn Costa, Miguel de Unamuno, George Orwell, Miguel Fleta, Jose Agust\u00edn Goytisolo, Luis Miguel Domingu\u00edn, Juan Jos\u00e9 L\u00f3pez Ibor Sollana (1906- Madrid 1991), the most important Spanish psychiatrist of the last century and the one with the greatest international recognition. As well as countless well-known people of song and dance such as Sara Montiel, Maty Yonseyama, International dancer, Tomny Larsen, eccentric comedian of world fame, Lolita Astolfi, Star of Spanish dance, Conchita Piquer, famous star of the song, and Illustrious teachers bullfighters such as Andres Torres (El Monaguillo), Sebastian Palomo Linares, Jos\u00e9 Fuentes, Gabriel de la Casa, Francisco Ribera (Paquirri); attracted by the modernist, cozy and elegant charm, by its modern cuisine and good taste, due to the French influence, since its beginnings in 1903.
